Meet The Instructor….

……Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. My name is Jeff Randall, originally from the finger lakes region of central New York, currently residing in Jacksonville Florida. Growing up on Cayuga Lake where I fly fished it’s tributaries for trout, salmon and smallmouth bass, I now enjoy the challenge of fly fishing the flats and surf of northeast Florida.

Certified as a casting instructor in March of 2024 through the Casting Instructor Certification Program (CICP) with Fly Fishers International (FFI).

I currently instruct individuals and groups in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. With over 20 years of fly fishing in fresh and saltwater environments, I bring passion and experience to my instruction.

“Fly Casting” defines the sport of “Fly Fishing”….

Unlike other forms of fishing, where the goal is simply to get bait or lure into the water, fly fishing asks something more of you before you can even think about catching a fish~~it asks you to learn how to cast. Every fly angler from beginner to seasoned guide, was once a beginner standing on the bank, line in hand, trying to make sense of loops and timing.

So, don’t be another beginner standing on that same bank. Feel free to reach out to me to schedule a casting lesson whether you are new to the sport or just need that tune up lesson before that scheduled trip using the “contact” page on this website, or at my email address: cayugaflycaster@gmail.com.

If you are new to the sport, consider reading my E Book titled “Before The First Cast” offered here on this website.

Why Cayuga ? I grew up in the finger lakes region of central New York on Cayuga Lake, named after the Cayuga Indian Tribe. I did some casting instruction in 2019 in that region and named the business after the region I lived in and will continue using it here in Jacksonville Florida.
